Happy Memorial Day:)

Hope you all are enjoying your Memorial Day!
I love having the day off but most importantly I get to celebrate the men in my life who have made so many sacrifices for our country! I wish my Grandpa was here with me here today to say thank you!

I find it ironic that my grandpa was stationed at the same base I am currently teaching on! It makes me feel like I was meant to be teaching here!

As I was looking through my store, I noticed a little freebie that needed a face lift!

You can grab this little writing activity HERE

Have a great day!

Minute to Win it.....UPDATE!

I only have 3 more days of school! I can't believe it! I am SO ready for a summer of relaxation at the beach and working hard at the gym!

Last year I blogged what I do the last few days of school
Minute to Win it games!

You can check out that blog post HERE
It's FULL of pictures!

I plan on doing the same games plus a few more over the next 3 days!
I have updated my FREE Minute to Win it unit with a total of 25 games!

The unit does not come with materials, but many of the items you will need can be reused in other games!

I can't wait to play with my kids!

Here are just a few of the games!

You can easily modify these games to materials you might already have.

I took many of these games right from the Minute to Win it website and created a few of my own.

I hope you can enjoy using these games! Your students will love them...promise!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Helping Hand Freebie

Happy Sunday friends! I hope you are having a great weekend!

It's been a pretty relaxing one for me!
I got a pedi/mani after work on Friday:)

Yesterday I got my haircut then decided to grab some Starbucks and take a walk on the beach! It was a beautiful day and I thought, "Why not!"

And today it's been a lazy day of movie watching and catching up on emails:)

One of the many emails I have had lately was for my helping hands freebie!
Last year I blogged about using pocketbacs from Bath and Body Works for a staff freebie!
Check out that post HERE.

I made these cute labels to go with the pocketbacs

Table Baskets~a BRIGHT IDEA:)

Welcome to another Bright Ideas blog hop!

I am so excited to share with you something I have started using in my classroom that makes my life and my students life SO much simpler!

I don't know about you, but I do A TON of cutting and gluing in my classroom! I use interactive notebooks for almost every subject! My kiddos just love them!

So with all this cutting you know there are scraps EVERYWHERE!!! As much as I have trained my kids to make "one big scrap"...which they are very good at....there are still pieces everywhere! LOL!

One of my biggest pet peeves is having kids get out of their seat without permission...breaking WBT rule "Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat."

Anyways, I started using table baskets and they have made the tiny scraps disappear! I just bought 4 white baskets from Walmart and I was good to go! The baskets also hold their glue sticks and scissors for easy grabbing!

Maybe the baskets will make your life a bit simpler!

Mother's Day final product....plus an added bonus:)

Happy Mother's Day to all you mother's out there! I hope it is a very special day for you all!

The other day I blogged about my Mother's Day freebie. On Friday, my kiddos worked on their special All About My Mom gift! I LOVE how they turned out!

All I used was
-the all about me paper
-large sheet of construction paper
-fun scrapbook paper from Walmart

I had the kids create their own bouquet of flowers out of the construction paper! They turned out great!

I hope the mother's loved them as much as I do!

So, I decided to update my file and add an "All About My Dad" page!

Instead of flowers, I was going to let the kids create a tool box of their dad's favorite things:)

You can get this freebie HERE

Enjoy your day! Make it a great one:)

It's SALE time and a Mother's Day Freebie!

I am SO excited for this one! I have my cart full and ready to check out!

For my own little store, I will have it 20% off! I am also planning to mark down a few select items just a bit more:) Happy Shopping!

Oh, and don't forget to snag up my little mother's day freebie!

I can't wait to see what the kids come up with! I think it's going to be too funny!

Have a great Tuesday!

Dear Teacher~End of the Year Writing Template

Happy Friday! I hope you all have awesome plans for the weekend! I am really just wanting to relax!

The end of the year is SOOO close! I have 18 more school days left and couldn't be more ready! I am looking forward to a summer of working out, going to the beach, and exploring the beautiful island of Oahu:)

Since I am thinking about the end of the year, I wanted to share my newest freebie with you:)

Ever since my first year of teaching I have asked my students to write me a letter.

In this letter I ask them to write about the school year. I want to know what they liked and what they didn't like.

I also want them to write about ME. I want to know what they liked and what they didn't like about me.

I am going to share with you a letter from my first year.

What I noticed is about me hollering. I was fresh out of college, moved 900 miles away from home, to a very small, low income area. EVERYONE I taught with yelled, that is how they got threw to the children. So...I thought that is what I was supposed to do.

Obviously hollering is NOT the answer. These words stuck with me for a very long time. It took me a year or so to break that habit. And now, classroom management is my strongest area!

Here are a few letters from the past few years!

In Hawaii, students complete what is called a Tripod Survey

My opinion, as well as many others, is this is not a true measure of student's opinions on their teachers. The sad part is, it is tied into my overall evaluations and eventually my pay! Crazy, I know!

I have found the letters students write me to be very helpful in my teaching career. To me, this is TRUE data of how students feel.

Would you like a copy? You can snag my Dear Teacher freebie up here!

Have a great weekend!
