Spring Acrostic Poems!

Well hello friends! It's been awhile! I was in Maui last weekend with my uncle! It was so nice to get to see him! He flew all the way here from Michigan which he does every year. I haven't seen him in over a year. It sure was a nice relaxing weekend!
Beach
Drinks
Sushi
Paddle Boarding
Sea Turtles
Whales

Can I go back now???

Here are a few pics:)

Then I was playing catch up all week! It's been quite stressful! I sure have a busy day today!

I just wanted to stop in and show you a simple acrostic poem idea you could do for spring!

As a class, we talked about words that describe spring. We even looked at books to help us!

Then students made their acrostic poems in their writing notebooks. Instead of just writing
S-sprouting flowers
R-Raindrops

and so on...

I wanted my kiddos to write complete sentences. I mean, they are almost 3rd graders. They need to be doing that!

Here is our class poem

Once their poems were complete and checked, they were able to make their rainbow craft! No templates, just scissors and glue!

Here are our final rainbows!

The kids really loved making these!

So this week, we are going to do some more rainbow poetry thanks to my friend Corinna over at Surfin Through Second!

You can grab her AH-MAZING freebie HERE!

I hope you all have a great start to your week!

Figurative Language Alert! Freebie included!

Thanks to those who helped me proof my items and thank you to those who offered! I had to take a break from fixing them to work on plans I needed for this week!

I seriously have been sitting at my desk ALL day. I did go to Walmart for a few things. I have been on a roll with getting stuff done!!!

I am spending a few days on Figurative Language! This is something my kids will see on their very first standardized test

I made a PowerPoint that goes through similes, metaphors, and personification.  It's nothing special, but gets the point across! Here are a few slides! If you would like it for free click HERE! All I ask is you leave some feedback!

Then at the end of the week, I wanted to check and see what they learned. So, I made a sort activity for them to cut out, sort, and glue!
Click HERE to get it at my TpT shop!

I also have some posters I found a few years back. I can't remember where I found them:( There is no name on them either. They are awesome and I use them every year! I do not take credit for these!

If you made these or know who did, please let me know! I have attached the link for a PDF to each one for you:)

I am adding the poetry sort to my shops tonight! But if you want to win it for free...just take a guess at this question:)

Who is my all time favorite Grey's Anatomy Character?
Please do not repeat guesses!

I also have been working on a few other things today! But I am learning to keep my posts to ONE topic per post! hehe:) It's hard...so hard!

Have a great week!

DONUT you know division part 2 and Winter Poetry

I'm BACK! I wanted to get these two new units introduced to you as soon as I could!

So, my kids really did well with my first DONUT You Know Division Notebook! They begged me to make another one. Since we have about 2 more weeks of division, I knew I just had to make it!

In Part 2, topics that are covered are...

I really like this unit! I hope the kids do too! It is 48 pages FULL of graphic organizers, posters, task cards, and problem solving questions!

I also finished my Winter Wonderland Poetry Unit.

In this unit, students will use their 5 senses to create a winter poem!

This is what my kids will be doing this week during writing!

As always, I want to give something away! Leave a comment and I will pick 2 people using the number generator to win both of these new units on Monday!

If you can't wait, you can pick both of these up in my stores!
Well, that's it for me today! I am off for date night with the hubby! Have a great night ya'll!
