A little spring cleaning!

I went into my classroom today and did a little rearranging and cleaning! The area I teach in is FULL of red dirt...so the kids and I clean the classroom daily!

I have my student teacher starting too! She will be there just for literacy.

Any tips for me? This is my first one and I am SO excited!

Scribble Frames and Writing Task Cards!

I have had a few days to really focus on my shop and update some older units! I did promise myself to take some ME time this spring break...hitting the beach later this week!

Today I finished updating my writing task cards!

I still have 60 different writing prompt task cards, but I updated the fonts, colors and clip art! I also have 4 different ways you can print this file:)

End of the year memory book~update!

I can't believe the end of the year is 9 weeks away! This school year has flown by to say the least! I feel like I just started my journey here in Hawaii!

When I started to think about the end of the year, I thought about my end of the year memory book! I wanted to give it a small face lift...and I couldn't be happier with out it turned out!

I have added fresh new clip art, frames, and fonts! I have also included a new page and added pages with no clip art!

One other thing I did was make more boy/girl combinations!

Reading Center Task Cards~update!!!

Today I have a quick post for you all about something I have updated. I have been in the mood lately to update my old goodies!

One of my favorite things to use during my reading center time is these task cards! They are great for independent work or partner discussions!

Homework Monthly Motivators...getting students to turn in homework!

I am sooooo excited to share this new unit with you today! I am very happy with how it turned out and love the student response I've had from it!

I bring you my Monthly Motivators!

Let me share a bit about this unit with you!

Here are the pictures from my class! I LOVE seeing the progression each day!

What really helped me to keep track of who turned in what homework was the recording sheet I made.

Each month has a creative theme! I place these posters on my door so the students can put their promise and daily pieces around it!

Every morning my students rush in to turn in their homework and get to coloring their daily piece for the door! This simple coloring tool has worked so well!

I have the simple solution:)

I bought these white 3 drawer containers from Target. Well, 3 of them to be exact! I placed some labels on them for each color I wanted...and I was set!

No more digging

No more saying they can't find a color

Simple, effective, and such a time saver!

Have different shades of pink...sure! They all go in the pink drawer:)

The kids love it, I love it, and I know YOU will love it!

Another way to use task cards other than scoot!

My kids love to play games and have a friendly competition! Do yours?

I decided to try something different with my newest task card set.

I added all my kids names into the Decide Now app

I spun the wheel 4 times to make my three teams of two! They LOVED to see who got to play!

Once they teams were picked, they took the task cards out of the bag, mixed them all up, and had to match as many rows to columns as they could in 2 minutes!

As soon as the two minutes were up, the team with the most matches got a little something from our class frog (my small candy jar).

They did not want to stop playing! I will be using the Decide Now app a lot more in the classroom other than for my wheel of prizes!

I am stopping in for a quick post! I have a million and one things to do tonight and I must complete them! I have my observation on Wednesday and I am making a few new items to use for my lesson!

I am finishing up 2.G.2 and i'm wrapping it up with a fun group activity! I can't wait to tell and show you all about it!

I am so so close to being done with a HUGE unit that has taken me awhile to complete!

I am so thrilled with how it is turning out. I tested it with my class in February and I can't be more excited about the results! I WILL be done with it this week and ready to blog about it!

Wait, what....it's MARCH???? I can't believe it! It totally missed the February currently so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss this one! And have you seen Farley's new design? It so precious! I just love the colors and how clean it looks! Great job Michelle on the design! I think I need an update too;)

YUP! I'm in love! I finally have a lifetime license for all of the KG fonts! Time to get making and updating some new things:)

I love new gym shoes...and well, since my second pair is very old I think it is time to get a new pair!

I have these in bright blue but I think it is time for a pink pair! Or maybe the grey!

Wanting...

Yup, I said it...I want to get my teeth whitened. I am just not sure the best way to to about doing so. Does anyone have any great suggestions, tips or ideas?
