Table Baskets~a BRIGHT IDEA:)

Welcome to another Bright Ideas blog hop!

I am so excited to share with you something I have started using in my classroom that makes my life and my students life SO much simpler!

I don't know about you, but I do A TON of cutting and gluing in my classroom! I use interactive notebooks for almost every subject! My kiddos just love them!

So with all this cutting you know there are scraps EVERYWHERE!!! As much as I have trained my kids to make "one big scrap"...which they are very good at....there are still pieces everywhere! LOL!

One of my biggest pet peeves is having kids get out of their seat without permission...breaking WBT rule "Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat."

Anyways, I started using table baskets and they have made the tiny scraps disappear! I just bought 4 white baskets from Walmart and I was good to go! The baskets also hold their glue sticks and scissors for easy grabbing!

Maybe the baskets will make your life a bit simpler!

  3. I have been using coffee cans for years as table top trash cans, but I never thought of storing the scissors and glue inside. That would definitely be a time saver!

  5. I do this too, but never thought to add their scissors and glue sticks to the baskets. I have those in a separate basket. Why? This is so much better. Thanks for the tip!

  6. It seems like I'm the opposite of everyone else whose commented. I've heard of having baskets for holding scissors and glue sticks but not of using them as trash cans. I love how you've multitasked them.

  7. So smart! I also like the idea of "one big scrap" - haha. I'm going to start using both!

  8. I use shower caddies to put scissors and glue in. At Dollar Tree I bought small trash cans that fit in the baskets also. I labeled the baskets and trashcans and have my table leader go get the basket when it is time to cut and glue :)

  9. Great idea! By the way, what type of desks are those? They look so shiny. I like the light color versus the darker versions that I have.

    Thank you for the ideas!

    1. Thanks:) I am not sure where the desks are from. I wish I could help! They are nice and shinny! I always have the kids clean them at the end of the day too:)
