I have been working for the past 2 days on a major product update! I really wanted a new look and feel to my year long writing calendar prompts! And boy, do I LOVE how they turned out!
Each month comes with 3 printing options!
Color
Black and white with clip art
Black and white without clip art
I can't wait for my kiddos to use these next year!
When I print them, I usually print them 2 to one page and then the kids glue them in their writing notebook. 2 to one page makes them a bit smaller to fit:)
Students have choice in what they write about. They pick their prompt, cross it off and put a date in the box.
I also like to have the kids copy the prompt in their writing notebook so I know which prompt they picked!
For this weekend only I have them in my shop for $2.00. You can grab them HERE!
Want to win a free copy? Leave a comment of how YOU would use these! I will pick a winner on Sunday!
Here's to an awesome weekend!
I would use them during my daily 5 writing time. To help those kids that are stuck or need a hint to get started.

These would be great to post in the "work on writing" center in our classroom. It would give the students a prompt to look at if they were having trouble coming up with their own topic and could be changed out monthly. OR you could use them for daily journaling/morning work! Very cool product; so versatile!

I would also use these in my Writing Center. A lot of kids say, "I don't have anything to write about." The solution = Writing Throughout the Year!

I would use this during Work on Wrtiting time to help those that can't think of something to write about.
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest, I don't know how all I will use them yet, I am transitioning from being a Kindergarten teacher to being a K-4 teacher next year! I don't know what handwriting practice will look like yet, but I love the idea of choosing what to write and putting the date on it.
ReplyDeleteI would have my students use this during their Daily Five. I love that they get to pick which prompt to write too. That totally follows Daily Five.
ReplyDeleteI would use these as my Wednesday Writing welcome work. The kids will glue their menu in their notebook and pick from the options listed. It will be quick write assessment for me, also.

This would be a perfect addition to their Daily 5 Work on Writing.

I feel like these would be perfect for Daily 5! I'm moving to a new school and will be using Daily 5 for the first time and I think that these writing prompts would be great for kids who need a little help thinking up topics to write about!

I love the idea of having this available for those students who 'have nothing to write about' OR have only one thing to write about...usually Ironman!

ReplyDeleteI love the idea of free choice enabling students to choose what to write about each day while also providing a model for those who need direction in order to get started. This looks like a great resource for my class. I can't wait to use these with my students. mjlilly29@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would use these as part of my journal writing. Later I think I would like to put them at my writing station with some cute paper!

In addition to Work on Writing, I would also use these for fast finishers, or a morning journal writing prompt.

I would use this either during work on writing time or for journaling. eveningstar02@hotmail.com
ReplyDeleteI would use them either during writing time or as a "center" for kids to write in their journals.

How much will they normally cost? TpT requires a $5 minimum before being allowed to purchase and I don't have anything else to purchase at this time.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have these! They would be great in a center or as bell work in the morning or even after lunch recess. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks,

I would love to use these towards the end of the day. I have found that writing tends to ease dismissal and calm my students down. Love this product!!
