Thanks for your helping hand part 2

Happy Saturday Friends!

Today has been a pretty awesome day! I woke up about 7:00 am to be at the gym by 8:00. I did some strength training on arms and legs for about 35 minutes and then took kickboxing with my best gym friend Andrea:) (who is an AMAZING school counselor and has an awesome blog...check her out HERE). Afterwards, she asked me if I wanted to take a walk to cool down (yes, we were dripping in sweat from kickboxing and there was a very nice breeze outside), so I said SURE. Well, the walk turned into a 2 mile walk instead of a 1 mile cool down. It was nice though! Before I knew it...it was 11am! 3 hours at the gym...WHAT???  I felt great though!

Then I rushed home, had a protein drink, showered, and back out to Walmart to pick up some stuff to make a yummy drinks at my friend's house.

4 of us girls, one was Jess from Twenty Six Minutes for Lunch and Carla from Don't Touch the Gong, plus me and another awesome teacher friend got together to have a girls grill out!

We made grilled pizza, had cheese cake made some yummy pineapple drinks, and enjoyed homemade guac! Thanks Jess for having us over!

Now I am home, hubby is sleeping and I need a nap! But it is 8pm and I should just go to bed...soon!

Ok, well back to what my post is really about!

Back a few weeks ago I blogged about my helping hands idea for my room parent!

Then I got another idea for staff around the school!
You know those pocketbacs from Bath and Body Works?
I bought a TON of them the other day! I made these cute tags to go around them. All I plan on doing is punching a whole in the corner and using ribbon to tie them on!

I love them and I hope the people at school do too!
If you would like these for free Just click HERE!

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend!
For tomorrow and Memorial Day, I am placing both of my stores 20% off!

Optimum Organization and a Fresh New Look!

Do you like what you see? This stunning new blog design makes my heart happy! Whitney is the one of the sweetest, most easy going people I have ever met. She took this idea I had, but I wasn't sure what to do with it, and turned it into a sleek, elegant, sweet, chic, sophisticated blog design that I am in love with!  Do you even notice the hearts that pop up when you go over one of my headers or pictures! And the hearts that come out of the mason jars??? Such thought has been put into every detail on this blog design!

Whitney is a gem and I think when I grow up I seriously want to be her! If you are in the market for something fresh and new, you WON'T be disappointed!

So tonight I am linking up with Elizabeth from Fun in Room 4B and Kristen from Ladybug's Teacher Files for their Optimum Organization linky party!

Organization is something I am very good at. I feel that it is also important to teach my students how to be organized. Every year I have parents thanking me for teaching their kids how to be organized.

One thing I found this summer on Pinterest was this idea...
I saw this and knew it was something I had to do. For YEARS I have been sick and tired of hearing students digging for a certain color or asking "I can't find a black crayon."

This year, I have had ZERO problems with colors that they need! No noise, no complains...it is awesome!

I put crayons, markers, and colored pencils all in the same drawer! I highly recommend you doing this! I bought the 3 drawers at Target for I believe $12 each. I do need to make some new tags for it though!

I am off to check out more organizational tips! I am always looking for something new:)

I will be back tomorrow with something new I plan in doing every Friday! I can't wait to share it with you all!

My Summer Bucket List Linky Party!!!

I can't believe summer is almost here! I have just 10 more days with my sweets! And 10 more days to get my classroom packed up! Every day I am taking a little bit home so eventually there will be nothing left!

So today I am linking up with 3 fantastic bloggers to talk about my BIG summer plans! Thanks Miss-Kindergarten, A Cupcake for the Teacher, and A Modern Teacher for another awesome summer linky party!

My big summer plans revolve around this...

Well, the FIRST thing I will be doing as soon as I am done with school is packing, selling and cleaning! Sounds like fun huh! Anyone want to come help???

Then in June 26th, my hubby and I along with 3 cats will be packed up in his car and doing this fun drive, yup...I said fun:/
Anyone live along that way? haha!

Then, we are staying in Seattle for 2 days, dropping off our car to be shipped and flying to Honolulu..still with 3 cats..for GOOD!

Our stuff should arrive a few weeks later and so should the car! We will be living with my in-laws for awhile until we can both secure jobs, save some money and buy a house!

I still have no word on a teaching job yet, but I am VERY hopeful!

I will be spending most of my short summer, since schools start a bit sooner than I am used to in Hawaii, learning my way around , unpacking, getting settled, and of course...going to the beach! I'm very excited to see an old teacher friend who I taught 1st grade with a few years ago. Lauren and her husband moved from NC to HI last year! It will be nice to have her around for a bit. They aren't staying:( I am also SO excited to meet a few bloggers from Hawaii! I am sure they will make me feel very welcome!

I'm excited for summer and this big transition in my life! What are you doing this summer?

Come stop my new Facebook page for a sneak peek at my new design! I can't wait until it is done! Should be tomorrow!!!

It's been a LONG week...but I have some more frames and fonts!

I think this has been the longest week I have had in a very LONG time:( I am GLAD it is Friday!I am about ready for bed but before I go, I want to share a few things!

First off, Wendy won my dot set of frames. I will be sending those to you shortly!

I have found that making frames and fonts this week has kinda helped with the stress! I think that is why I am such on a frame and font kick!

Here are some new frames I made today!

I also made two new fonts while I was waiting for my car to be done at the shop!

I will be uploading all of these to my stores tomorrow. I really can't keep my eyes open now:( I am that tired!

Leave a comment and I will pick 3 people to win this new set of frames!!!

Have a great Friday night!

Thank you Mr. Hess:) with a FREEBIE

I have spent a lot of time this weekend going though old boxes and such...trying to get ready to start packing our house. Today I went though a box of old cards. Cards from high school graduation, college graduation, birthdays and holidays. Some dating back to the early 90's.

One card caught my eye and I wanted to share it with you! With closing out Teacher Appreciation week, this card I found was very fitting. Mr. Hess, my high school Algebra Teacher was the reason I became a teacher. This is what he wrote me on my high school graduation day!

We all called him Hessman! He was such an inspiration! I know he taught high school and I teach elementary, but it was his passion and dedication for students which influenced me. He would go above and beyond, do anything he could to help every single student.

EVERYONE wanted to have him as a teacher. I as lucky that I got to be his TA one semester during my senior year. It was awesome...except for the part where I can to clean his overhead projector. He had the rolling film! So by the end of the day the thing was FILLED.

I remember hearing about his retirement celebration! He went out in true style! A limo came to his house, picked him up, took him to work, out to lunch, and home again. He was loved by many! I am friends with him in Facebook and keep up with him time to time. I will be sharing this letter with him today!

So to end Teacher Appreciation week, I want to give you all something for free! Just leave a comment with your email and I will get you this frame!

Have a GREAT week everyone!

Switch it, Give it, Lose it-review game activity

My kids are just LOVING this review game idea I came up with! My classroom neighbor was so impressed by the game she said she just has to have it! hehe:)

I have spent some time making this unit full of pictures to explain how to set it up and the rules of the game. I want to ahare with you this fun activity that can be used with any test prep you have.

I used Blair Turner's Task Cards...which are AH-MAZing! She seriously has seen me visit her store one too many times over this past month. I can't say enough great things about her products!

Here is my new game called

Here is what you need to set it up!

Here are some pictures of the game in action!

So what do you think? I am telling you, my kids have been begging to play every day!

The unit I have has all the printables and step by step instructions with a materials list. I will be adding this to my stores tomorrow but would like to give it to 3 people for free:) Just leave a comment about how you would use this in your classroom and I will send the first 3 people a copy for free:)

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!
