Freebie kinda day:)

What a BEAUTIFUL spring Saturday here in NC! It is simply gorgeous outside! I sit here with the window open, which is probably not the best idea since the pollen and I don't get along, listening to the birds chirp just puts me in a great mood!

I have a few items to tell you about today!

First, I finished my Rolling Through Reading Genres unit today!
I had fun making this unit! I fell in love with Erin Bradley's new clip art set and just had to use it!

This unit has 10 different genres with questions. There is a black and white set too!
I also have graphic organizers that go along with some of the questions. Included is a reading response journal cover!

The freebie time has ended! If you missed out on this flash giveaway, it will be available in both of my stores!

Do your kids like those cootie catchers? Mine do! I remember making them when I was younger! Well, I started adding them into my math block. I made a editable blank copy! This way you can create your own or have the kids create their own! My kids loved them for multiplication and geometry!
Just click on the picture to get your free copy!

And last, yes it is spring, and that means testing...ugh:( I really dislike this time of year!

One thing I am going to do again is use a PowerPoint my Instructional Facilitator sent us 3-5 teachers last year. She received this PowerPoint from another teacher in my district. This person found it online.

I am not the creator and could not find it for anything online! If this happens to be your creation, please let me know so I can give you credit!

It is a great PowerPoint with vocabulary words for reading. It also has fun noises! The kids liked it!
Just click the picture to get this PowerPoint for free:)

I also made a vocabulary dictionary for the kids to use while we go through each word.

Just click the picture below to get your free copy!

You can use either page for the dictionary
I plan on using the copy machine at work to put two pages on one!

Well that's it for me today! I have a few hours to get some work done before heading out with my husband tonight:) Enjoy your Saturday!

  1. Hi Tonya, Love the Reading Genre Unit! Our 4th graders all do a BAM "Book A Month" project and each month is a different genre. This would be great to help introduce the different ones. Thanks for the giveaway! Love the clip art too! ~Julie

  2. Welcome back from Michigan!

I just love, love, love your Rolling Through Reading Genres Unit! I saw last night that you were working on it and was curious to see what your final piece would be. It just looks fantastic! With the big push to read more variety of genres, this is such a great idea to keep kids moving. I tried something similar second quarter, but like your version much more!

We're getting ready for testing too. Ours start on the 16th. Good luck preparing!
