Monday Made it with Minute to Win it...(picture overload)

Happy Monday!!! It's been a busy one here with more packing and sorting. It took some time to also have lunch with two other 3rd grade teachers! I am going to miss them:(

Before I get into my Monday Made it, I have decided to order an Erin Condren Teacher Planner. Now, I got the life planner last year but didn't really use it. I think the Teacher Planner will be put to more use for teaching and life. Now...I can't decide which one to get. I have narrowed it down to two choices

The one on the right is the favorite things. I can list my favorite things in the background. I really like that. But the colors and the writing on the left one catches my eye!

Which one would you choose?

What I need to do now is take a break and share my Monday Made it!

Back on May 30th I shared my Minute to Win it pack! I put it up in my TpT store for FREE and have had some awesome feedback!

I want to share with you my classes Minute to Win it day! It was SOOOO much fun! The kids LOVED it! But it was also very tiring because we did ALL 16 games in 1 day! From 9am to 11:30 and then 12:50-2:45.

Here are some of the games and the pictures!

This was by far my FAVORITE one! I was in tears from LAUGHING!

And no, this was NOT a drinking game! lol!

This game is harder than it looks. Many teams broke their TP...only 1 team got their point for this game!

If you look on the board in the back...I used a huge piece of butcher paper and made a grid of the 12 teams. This is where they all kept their score!

This one is also hard!

We used Fruit loops since I couldn't find candy hearts in May! It was actually pretty hard!

I decided not to have the kids place the toothpicks in their mouth...too dangerous!

And there you have it:) It was a blast and I highly recommend it!
remember you can get it for FREE at mt TpT shop!
Just click on the picture below!

I noticed some spelling errors on it. So I am going to fix it. If you downloaded it before, please download again!

I am off to check some Monday Made it's Now...instead of packing;)

Make sure you link up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics!!!

pps...I just got a call...I have an interview Wednesday with a school I would like to be at:) Keep your fingers crossed!

What a busy first weekend off!

You know, it is been driving me crazy not to get on here and blog. I have a few things I want to share with you all!...but life at my house has been nuts! We are in full packing, selling, and cleaning mode!

This, my friends, is my pile of SOME of my school stuff. I think my husband had a heart attack when he realized how much school stuff I had!
But hey, this pile also has some Christmas stuff in it. So it is not ALL school stuff;)

I also spent the weekend getting Reba ready! Reba spend all yesterday at the salon. I can't help but be a bit jealous!
But she is really pretty now...don't you think?

Yes, Reba is my 14 year old car! She is a 99 Chevy Caviler that I have had for 11 years. I bought her from a dealer that used her as a rental car. She has over 200,000 miles on it and is still a great car! I hate to part with her, but she is not so lucky with coming to Hawaii!

Yes, her name is Reba! I got this name for my car the first year I had her. I was 20 when I got this car and thought a zebra steering wheel cover was SO COOL. I got one and my best friend named her Reba the Zebra. I also had zebra hanging dice. They are no longer in my car. HAHA.

She is now ready to be put up for sale! Anyone know someone in the NC area who wants a great car???

It's almost 11pm and hubby just left for work. I have some energy...thinking about opening some wine I got from a parent, and start packing my clothes....maybe!

I REALLLYYYY want to blog about school stuff, but my mind is SO preoccupied with the move. Please stay with me...I promise to be back with it soon!

Please keep me in your thoughts this week. I had 3 calls in ONE day on Thursday...leading to a hopeful two interviews at least. The 3rd wanted an in person interview...which I understand but can't do at this moment!

Have a great night!

Friday Freebie time!!!

Hey all, it's time for another Friday Freebie!
Today I would like to welcome Aimee from Pencils Books and Dirty Looks

T.G.I.J.!  Thank Goodness It’s June!  Hopefully you are already enjoying your summer vacation or finishing up with your last few days of school.  I’m Aimee from Pencils, Books, and Dirty Looks and happy to be Tonya’s Friday Freebie for this week!

I know most of you aren’t giving next school year a thought for at least a few weeks, but in case you are I thought I would offer my End of the Day Jar.

It’s a jar full of questions for students to help build community in the classroom.  Do your students ever need an activity to fill those last few minutes of the school day before dismissal?  My students did!  I wanted to come up with something quick, fun and meaningful to help end the day on a positive note.

Each day after students packed up for home we would come up to the meeting area and pull a few cards.  Depending on how quickly and quietly my students packed up would determine how many students got to pull from the jar.  Some of the questions were “What did you learn today?”   “Did any of your classmates do anything funny?”  “Did you do something kind for someone else today?”

My students loved answering the questions and it really prompted them to think about their day.  This was a bonus, but the real up side for me was that they were engaged even up to the last few minutes of the day!

I hope this freebie helps you as you begin to think about fall and your end-of-the-day activities!

Click the picture to take you to your freebie!

Random Act of Kindness by MY Student...I just have to share!

Today was one of those days that makes my job really worth it! You know what I am talking about? I had one of the most selfless and random acts of kindness I have seen in my 7 years of teaching happen today...by a student!
I just want to share it with you!

So today one of my students, let's call him L, forgot his lunch money. He started to get really upset and cry, a lot. I told him everything would be ok! He asked to call his dad, and of course I told him he could.

A few seconds later he came walking over to me with such a sad look and his eyes were very red. He said it didn't work, he couldn't get a hold of him. He hung on to me crying. I told him I will email mom and dad and I am sure they will come. If not, not to worry. I will buy you lunch, give you my lunch or I am sure the cafeteria will give you food. You won't go hungry.

Then I told him to walk down to the bathroom, get a drink, and wash his face! He walked out of the room.

Meanwhile, another student...let's call him Y, heard all of this. But I will tell you Y doesn't understand ONE WORD. He just moved here two weeks ago from Honduras with the shirts on their back. He knows ZERO English. He has been doing his best in class to understand and try, but all I get is " no comprendo." I have about 7 Spanish speaking students in my class and they have been doing an awesome job translating and helping Y get adjusted. L is also a Spanish speaking student but does not get services because he is bilingual.

Anyways, back to my story:)

As L was washing his face, Y walks over to his bookbag, digs out ALL the change he has. When L walks in, Y gives him every bit of change he has (pennies and dimes) and tells him in Spanish, "Here, you can have my money!" I saw this whole thing happen in front of my eyes and started to cry! I am crying typing this!

Y has nothing, no money, no car, living with another family. but gives his change to a peer in the classroom he hardly knows. Not his best friend, a stranger practically!

L's mom and dad both emailed me back and came and gave L money. I told them they story and they invited Y over and thanked him. L gave Y back his money and was best friends with him the rest of the day.

I told L, " Now that is the kind of friend you want to have. That is the kind of person you want to be. Someone who does something for someone else without wanting something back. He did that because he wanted to."

I haven't had too many problems with L all year, but this...I think changed him. I could see he was different after this!

*tear*

Thanks for those that emailed me! I hope you were happy with your item:)

Thank you all for being amazing!

Monday Made it-boot camp style!

It's BACK!!! Monday Made Its from 4th Grade Frolics
This was one of my favorite linky parties last year! I am hopeful that I will be able to link up as much as I did last year! But with the move and all, I might not be able to! We will see!

Thanks Tara for hosting this linky party again!!!

So today I am bringing you an activity I did today in my class! It was elective day, and every teacher got to teach something different. I chose to do something with exercise!

I talked to my friend who is the YMCA director, and she let me borrow
5 Bosu balls
2 step benches
an Agility ladder
2 medicine balls
and 4 mats!

With the help of Amanda we came up with these 6 different stations

Thanks Corinna from Surfin Through Second for the awesome frames:)

For the Exercise Card station I made different cards with a task on them

I had 3 different rotations of 24 students in each. Every time I would show the activity and explain it, I would hear, "Oh that's easy." I said,"oh, just you wait!"

I broke the 24 students up into teams of 4. They had about 3-4 minutes at each station. After the second station, they were dripping in sweat and saying, "I need a break!" HAHAHA

After all 6 stations they had water and a snack!
It was an awesome day!

Take a look at these pictures. They are a bit blurry because they were moving around SO much!

Needless to say, after today, I got my workout in and I did not go to the gym! I did though to drop off the equipment!

If you are interested in having this Kid Boot Camp set I made, I would gladly email it to you!

It's 7pm and I am ready for bed!
Have a great night!!!

What's the Word?-another minute to win it game!

I can't believe TODAY was my LAST Monday waking up and coming to work at Creekside! It was a rainy drive, a sad yet happy drive!

Today my kids are enjoying pajama day with a read-a-thon this morning. This afternoon we are having a 3rd grade pizza lunch and water balloon toss!

So, I made yet another minute to win it game! This one calls for no extra materials except for the word cards!

I made a set of 4 summer words!

I plan on making copies for each time and placing each one in a bag. The object of the game is to see who can make the words first.

I will be adding this to my Minute to Win it file on TpT. Remember, this is a free file:) If you want to check out the post about my games you can click HERE!

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day! The whole school...which is about 900 kids, are having an elective day! Every teacher is teaching something fun and different!

I will be back tomorrow night with pictures of my day!

Happy Monday!

Orange you glad it's summer? And my end of the year gift to the kids!

In 4.5 days I will be saying, "Orange you glad it's summer?" I am giving these cute gifts to my coworkers the very last day of school!

First, I found these cute tags on Pinterest

So I made them in 2 inch circles so I can use my punch!
If you want these smaller tags for free, just click HERE:)

Then I was off to find some orange things...where do you think I went??? Target of course:)

I found these adorable orange plastic bags in the dollar section! SO perfect! Plus a few other orange things!

As I was putting them all together in the bags, my ORANGE cat wanted to join the orange fun!
sorry Sherbert...you can't go to school with me!

I started to put the bags together...but will wait to add the chocolate until Friday as I don't want the chocolate to taste like orange gym!
CUTE huh? So simple and so cheap! You can use a Sharpie and write a message on the bag or choose to leave it be!

Next, I started on my kids end of the year gift. I usually do some kind of word cloud each year. Last year I made word clouds and bought dollar store frames to put them in!
You can check out my post from last year HERE

This year I wanted to do something different! I still wanted to do word clouds but had this in mind!
I had the kids all fill out a sheet called ONE WORD
This is where they wrote down ONE word for each of their classmates!

I got this awesome fun paper from Michaels!

Here are a few of the different pages

Then I made their word cloud with the one word sheets, used the snipping tool to save the picture, and placed it into a PowerPoint!
I next picked a sheet of paper, and taped the word cloud on it.

I am going to write on the back the year and my name. I will laminate it and add some ribbon so they can hang it!

And that's it! I hope the kids love it as much as my previous classes have!

Now...I need to get those dang report posters cards done! Yes, we call them posters...they are HUGE!
YUP...it's hanging OFF OF MY CHAIR seat...hahahahaha
