In 4.5 days I will be saying, "Orange you glad it's summer?" I am giving these cute gifts to my coworkers the very last day of school!
First, I found these cute tags on Pinterest
So I made them in 2 inch circles so I can use my punch!
If you want these smaller tags for free, just click HERE:)
Then I was off to find some orange things...where do you think I went??? Target of course:)
I found these adorable orange plastic bags in the dollar section! SO perfect! Plus a few other orange things!
As I was putting them all together in the bags, my ORANGE cat wanted to join the orange fun!
sorry Sherbert...you can't go to school with me!
I started to put the bags together...but will wait to add the chocolate until Friday as I don't want the chocolate to taste like orange gym!
CUTE huh? So simple and so cheap! You can use a Sharpie and write a message on the bag or choose to leave it be!
Next, I started on my kids end of the year gift. I usually do some kind of word cloud each year. Last year I made word clouds and bought dollar store frames to put them in!
You can check out my post from last year HERE
This year I wanted to do something different! I still wanted to do word clouds but had this in mind!
I had the kids all fill out a sheet called ONE WORD
This is where they wrote down ONE word for each of their classmates!
I got this awesome fun paper from Michaels!
Here are a few of the different pages
Then I made their word cloud with the one word sheets, used the snipping tool to save the picture, and placed it into a PowerPoint!
I next picked a sheet of paper, and taped the word cloud on it.
I am going to write on the back the year and my name. I will laminate it and add some ribbon so they can hang it!
And that's it! I hope the kids love it as much as my previous classes have!
Now...I need to get those dang report posters cards done! Yes, we call them posters...they are HUGE!
YUP...it's hanging OFF OF MY CHAIR seat...hahahahaha
That's a fabulous end of the year gift! I'm sure your kiddos will love it!

For the Love of First Grade
Your report cards scare me...looks like you would need map folding skills to get it into an envelope for the students.
ReplyDeleteI am cracking up at your adorable cat's name...I grew up calling that frozen treat sherbeRt as well. Mostly because my entire family did, too. It was only about five years ago that I found out there is no second R! (I still couldn't call it by the correct name if you paid me, either!)
They are HORRIBLE! They have ALL the grade levels common core standards on them. The parents hate them...well, don't understand them. They STINK!
Deleteyeah, we call him Sherby:) He is 16 years old. He is my husbands BABY:)
Love your end of the year gift ideas and your cat!! I feel your pain with those darn report cards! My school also has all the standards listed on them for us to grade each student on and a section to grade classroom habits. We all hate them! I always wonder if anyone really reads them besides me!

Oh my goodness. That sounds like our standards based report card. Our parents hate them and they are so hard to explain and take FOREVER to input. Yikes!!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE every idea in this post! I wish I had made those word clouds for my 5th graders... But there's always next year! Could I get the 2-in. orange slices from you. What a fun and fantastic little gift! Can't wait to make them. Thank you so much for all of your fantastic ideas! (I'm also going to make the scrapbook letter on the canvas. How cute!)
