Monday Made it with Minute to Win it...(picture overload)

Happy Monday!!! It's been a busy one here with more packing and sorting. It took some time to also have lunch with two other 3rd grade teachers! I am going to miss them:(

Before I get into my Monday Made it, I have decided to order an Erin Condren Teacher Planner. Now, I got the life planner last year but didn't really use it. I think the Teacher Planner will be put to more use for teaching and life. Now...I can't decide which one to get. I have narrowed it down to two choices

The one on the right is the favorite things. I can list my favorite things in the background. I really like that. But the colors and the writing on the left one catches my eye!

Which one would you choose?

What I need to do now is take a break and share my Monday Made it!

Back on May 30th I shared my Minute to Win it pack! I put it up in my TpT store for FREE and have had some awesome feedback!

I want to share with you my classes Minute to Win it day! It was SOOOO much fun! The kids LOVED it! But it was also very tiring because we did ALL 16 games in 1 day! From 9am to 11:30 and then 12:50-2:45.

Here are some of the games and the pictures!

This was by far my FAVORITE one! I was in tears from LAUGHING!

And no, this was NOT a drinking game! lol!

This game is harder than it looks. Many teams broke their TP...only 1 team got their point for this game!

If you look on the board in the back...I used a huge piece of butcher paper and made a grid of the 12 teams. This is where they all kept their score!

This one is also hard!

We used Fruit loops since I couldn't find candy hearts in May! It was actually pretty hard!

I decided not to have the kids place the toothpicks in their mouth...too dangerous!

And there you have it:) It was a blast and I highly recommend it!
remember you can get it for FREE at mt TpT shop!
Just click on the picture below!

I noticed some spelling errors on it. So I am going to fix it. If you downloaded it before, please download again!

I am off to check some Monday Made it's Now...instead of packing;)

Make sure you link up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics!!!

pps...I just got a call...I have an interview Wednesday with a school I would like to be at:) Keep your fingers crossed!

Monday Made it with a little bit of HELP please!

I feel very unprepared for this Monday made it:( I have been so busy and enjoying as much friends and hubby as I can before school is back in full swing that my school projects are lacking!

Today, I spent 2 hours with my friend and co-teacher to talk about our literacy block this year! It was a great conversation and we both left excited for this school year! One thing we did talk a lot about was homework! The co-teacher is the certified ESL teacher so we do a whole group ESL class for literacy to best meet all of their reading needs. So homework always looks a bit different. We wanted meaningful homework and not busy work...but there has to be an accountability piece to ensure they are doing something!

So they have their nightly spelling homework and also reading homework. I worked on a new reading log for them to use this year. We modified it a bit and we both think it will work out great!
It is simple and gets the job done. Yes, it is not as cute as I usually do things but that really wanted the point with this. So students will get take home books each week. they are to read, and write a summary each night or write something about what they liked. A parent will sign and I will check it every morning in order for them to get their homework ticket. Students also must read 80 minutes each week to get their reading bead!

If you are interested in the reading log, just click on the picture! So that is it for my Monday Made it! I promise to make up for it later this week! Thanks Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for the opportunity to link up!

One more thing before I go...I have been wrecking my brain about how to do my math block this year. I have used Pinterest, goggled, blogs, PT, anything to gather ideas. I just can't decide how to do it:(
I need all the HELP I can get...so if you have an idea or suggestion, I would greatly appreciate it!

This is what I plan on doing, or not doing...haha...
1. I do NOT want to be a part of the center rotation. I want to be able to meet with a few kids, one kid, or a whole small group when needed. It has never worked adding me into the rotation.

2. I want a calendar piece

3. I do NOT want transition times where they stop, clean up, move and start again...ugh! too much time LOST. So...I am thinking of having them have a given amount of centers to complete at their own pace over a two week span? One week span? What do you think?

Thanks for listening! I hope someone can give me some suggestions!

Monday Made It with a possible giveaway!

The summer Mondays are dwindling down and that makes me very sad:( My projects have turned into more lessons that fun crafts! Thanks Tara over at 4th grade Frolics for making Mondays so awesome:)

So today I present a few items I have made to use this school year. At the very end, I will ask another question and if you can guess it right I will email all my Monday Made it creations for free:)

Project 1. Super Spellers Club
So this year I want to showcase my students who do well at their spelling tests! I find that many kids just don't care about practicing throughout the week and then on Friday's it shows! So my plan is to have a Super Spellers Club board set up in my room. When they get their first 100% on a test they will enter the club. They will get some kind of pendant to place on the board. After that, for each 100% they get I will give them a sticker to place on their pendant. This is just a small showcase of their hard work and getting 100%.

Project 2. Frogtastic Spellers Club
I did the same thing as above, but made it frog themed! I am undecided which one I will use!

Project 3. Topics to write about
During center time, I want to give students more options to write about. I have created writing task cards, but I wanted something more visual on the board for them to choose instead of flipping though cards. I plan on placing these in a pocket cart or something like that to display these cards. I have 56 cards in all!

Project 4: No homework pass
Last Monday Made it I talked about how I do rewards for homework. When students turn in their homework they get to put their name on the back of a ticket. On Friday's I am going to roll a dice to see how many tickets I will pull out for a winner. So if I role a 3, I will pull 3 winners. Well, what will those winners win? I have thought about this over and over. This is my plan! Each student will get a punch ticket. If their name is pulled out, they will get a punch on their punch pass. Once all the punches are punched they will get a free homework pass. I thought about giving students a free homework pass when their ticket is called, but then I will be giving free homework passes each week and I don't think I want to do that. So here they are! What do you think? I am thinking of making a few themes too! Not sure!

Project 5. Frogtastic sticks
I used these last year as table top awards. When a table was doing what they were supposed to be doing or helping each other, working together they got to color in a letter. When all the letters were colored in, they got a prize. I am hoping to do this again this year.

Well that's it for now!
I will be placing all of these items in my TPT and TN stores later this afternoon...BUT...
Here is how you can win all of these items for free:)
1. follow my blog
2. leave a comment with the answer to this question
What is my favorite thing to do at the gym?

I will reveal the answer on Wednesday! Have a great week everyone! I am going to be busy setting up my classroom all week! I will make sure to post pictures!
