Target Dollar Spot, Winners, Sale, Freebie

Happy Monday! My day was filled with the gym, vet appointment, doctor appointment, and a dentist appointment! It was a LONG day. Our cats have to get a lot of things done in order for them to move with us to Hawaii! Doctor appointment went ok. I am on some pain meds. She thinks right now I have tendinitis. If the pain does not stop in a week, I will need an x-ray:( It is hard for me to type one handed!

So, after the gym I stopped at Target. The dollar spot is stocking up on more teachery things...looky what I got!

I am using one of the bags for mu lunch but have no idea what to use the other 2 for. The blank books are awesome...but what to use them for? And the calendar I did not find in the dollar spot. I found that in the home section for $1.50. I plan on using it for individual reading conferences or something:)

WINNERS of my Lettuce Ask Questions and MLK unit are...
 Stephanie

 Mrs. Phillips

I am emailing you now!

BUT...for all of you that wanted the units...I am having them 50% off in my TN shop for tonight and tomorrow only!

And I am also giving away this new math center idea I just made!

Place numbers in the circles. Students pick two numbers to multiply together. Then they draw the array on graph paper and color in the box. I make ONE copy of this and place it on the board! I hope you can use it!

Well, that's enough for me. Have a great night!

fortunately it's almost Friday, unfortunately tomorrow is only Thursday!

How many of you have heard of this book before???
I did not until today! It is called Fortunately by Remy Charlip and it is WAY TOO CUTE! The kids and I were both laughing so hard while I was reading it. I read it today because it was the selected book in my writing program. After I read it, the kids had to come up with their own fortunately, unfortunately stories! As they were writing a light blub went off in my head!

What if we made our own class fortunately, unfortunately story? Where I start, and then the next student has to continue with it. Then that student passes it to another student until all the students have had a chance to make a page! I brought this idea up to the class and they want to do it!

So...today, I came up with this:)

A fun writing unit just for this idea!

Here are the ideas from the unit!

I think the kids are going to have a blast doing this! What do you think? You can get this in both of my stores!

One more thing before I go...I was going through some files and found these old task cards I made for multiplication! Nothing fancy, but great questions with pictures. Thought you may want them:) Click on the picture to get them for free!

Have a fantastic night!

OH...look what just came at my door! I had to hurry up and take a picture! Boy was that quick! and I adore the colors! SO SO pretty!

Also while I was away, I got an email from Vera Bradley saying they had a flash Cyber sale that was for tonight only! I also had a $10 off coupon since they messed my last order up. It has been awhile since I carried a Vera purse, but I really liked this one and well, for $29 total with shipping I couldn't pass it up. It's too cute too!
I guess the one thing that is good about going back to work tomorrow is I can stop.spending.money!!!

Good night ya'll!

MEGA post...new products, sale, Thanksgiving lesson, a freebie and a giveaway!

Yes, this is going to be a MEGA post! I feel like I have been SLACKING in the post department! I am trying to get caught up, but every time I have tired, something has got in the way! So today I still wasn't feeling well enough to go to the gym after work so I came home, had dinner with the hubby and went right upstairs to work! And let me tell you, I have been pretty productive the last hour or so!

SO...are you ready? Grab a coffee and a snack, it might be a bit!

First, today I did my annual making butter activity! I started this activity my third year of teaching and each year the kids love it! I have learned a few tricks over the years! The biggest one is to use individual small containers!  Here are a few pictures of our day!

While they were shaking their butter we watched a virtual field trip through Scholastic! They are awesome!

How fun huh? You should try it if you are still in school tomorrow!

OK...next, here are a few new products I will be posting to TPT and TN tonight!

There are 12 task cards in this pack!

There are 10 task cards in this pack plus a worksheet, posters, and explanation of the activity.

Go snag it up today while it is on sale!

So, browsing Pinterest last night, I found this AWESOME, AMAZING, really COOL YouTube video with a new hands trick for multiplication! You have to check this out if you teach multiplication...

I was in shock! I think this is super cool. So I scratched my lesson plans for today, and jumped right in with teaching this trick! Here are some pictures from today!

I had them create a poster! They had to do the same thing the guy did in the video.

Here they are using the trick!
And more kids using the trick
And this was a final poster. I also had them write down each set of multiplication facts and solve each one using the new trick! They LOVED this.

So what did I do??? After the gym, I came home right away and made a poster to display in the classroom!
If you are interested in this poster, you can get it here for FREE! All I ask is you just leave some love:) I really enjoy reading every single comment; it means SO much to me!  I can't help but feel a bit sad that no one commented on my Bully Video:( The kids and I worked very hard on that, and out of the 50 people who viewed that blog post, no one commented:(

My principal, guidance councilor , RTI teacher and literacy coach all came in yesterday and watched it with my class. They were amazed with the video. My Principal actually is forwarding it to his boss and the superintended! YIKES! He even wants me to show it at the next staff meeting! If you didn't get a chance to watch it, please check it out here or this link I have on YouTube.  Well, that's it for today!

I hope to see you all again later this week!

Bully Free Video I just HAVE to share-and two new products!

I FINALLY finished the video for my classes bully free project we were working on two weeks ago! I LOVE it and could not be more proud of my kiddos. I can't believe 3rd graders made this.  PLEASE....tell me what you think? I would love to hear some comments about it!

Thanks Ginger from Ginger Snaps for the awesome fonts! I think I have a problem using your GingersnapPrint ALL THE TIME:)

I am also in the works of finishing these two units! The first one is for the distributive property of multiplication!

And the second one are multi-step word problems. This tricks 3rd graders so much! They always forget they have to do one part of the problem before they do the other! I am going to keep drilling this all year I believe:(

Just as soon as these are done, they will be available in both of my stores!

One last thing before I go...don't forget to enter my current giveaway! It's a chance to win my 70 page Polar Express Theme Unit Pack! It ends Wednesday!

Here is to a GREAT week everyone!
