Happy Thanksving-a day late and Cyber Monday!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! I hope your day was full of love, laughter, friendship and family! I had a wonderful first Thanksgiving in Hawaii and I'm looking forward to many more! 

Did any of you go out for Black Friday? Find anything good? I didn't make it out and that's OK with me. My husband and I did go out to the mall this morning for a little while. He picked up a new golf club and I got...a NEW PHONE!!! I have been wanting a new phone for a very long time. I got the new iPhone5s and I couldn't be happier! Now...I just need to get a case! I have found a few websites that make specialty cases! The hard part is to choose!!! 

I found a few so far I like!

I still have a lot more to look at! Ugh...so hard!

On another note...I have a lot of Cyber Monday clip art and units I want to buy on TpT! My wishlist and shopping cart is SO full!

I am excited to have my store on sale!!!

I am in the middle of updating my winter units!

TN 50% off Sale, Special Giveaway, New Stuff

 Happy Saturday to you all! It has been a really great day! I went to the gym early for a cycle class since my favorite instructor wasn't teaching step! But I did get a very nice surprise as I walked into the gym! A gift for me:)

Amanda knows how much I have a passion for step! She also knows I want to teach it someday! I cam beyond excited to have my very own bench! I know it is an older one, but that doesn't matter to me! I am already downloading the right music to my mp3 player! 

Then I went and did some shopping after the gym! I first went to Trader Joes and picked up a few things. I ALWAYS get some new kind of sweet treat there...even though I probably shoulnd't! I picked this treat up today.

I haven't tried yet yet, but the raspberry said "Pick Me"...so I did!

I also went to Walmart and Target! Now I have been seeing ALL over bloggy land these super cute animal bracelets! So, of course I went over to look! 

I found the zebra, fish, and elephant! And let me tell you, they are SO cute! So...what did I do...well...

I have some posters to use about themes and also an answer key about what messages students can find in the book they are reading. This is an objective in the Common Core where students often struggle! Hopefully reading different books by the same Author will help!

  This unit is for comparing and contrasting story elements by the same author! I chose to do a unit on one of my favorite authors!

I am BUSY working on this Math Journal Unit! I am loving how it is turning out! Here is a sneak peak!

With the math jounrals...I have also changed up my Math Focus Wall! Once the math journal is done, I plan on making a great blog post talking about my math block!

Some people asked to see the pictures of that division project I had my kids do! I think they turned out great!

MEGA post...new products, sale, Thanksgiving lesson, a freebie and a giveaway!

Yes, this is going to be a MEGA post! I feel like I have been SLACKING in the post department! I am trying to get caught up, but every time I have tired, something has got in the way! So today I still wasn't feeling well enough to go to the gym after work so I came home, had dinner with the hubby and went right upstairs to work! And let me tell you, I have been pretty productive the last hour or so!

SO...are you ready? Grab a coffee and a snack, it might be a bit!

First, today I did my annual making butter activity! I started this activity my third year of teaching and each year the kids love it! I have learned a few tricks over the years! The biggest one is to use individual small containers!  Here are a few pictures of our day!

While they were shaking their butter we watched a virtual field trip through Scholastic! They are awesome!

 

How fun huh? You should try it if you are still in school tomorrow!

Happy Saturday Friends! Tonight my hubby and I along with some friends are going out to celebrate my birthday and hubby's birthday! His was October 29th and mine is November 5th. Anyone LOVE American Horror Story? 

 It is such an amazing show. I do have to admit, I am a bit sad they didn't leave off from last season. But this season is still really good! 

I can't believe I got 12 hours of sleep last night! I went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 11am! Crazy! but it's saving me from a nap today! 

I did do some shopping for a new shirt and pants to wear out tonight! No luck on finding pants but did find a few new shirts. Now...what to actually wear! haha! 

I really want a new computer. I am thinking about switching to a mac...any suggestions on what to get? I am waiting for my districts supplement  check I get twice a year. I will have it the middle of this month and thinking about buying one with that money!  

I have a HUGE list of things to start, finish, and post to TPT. I really need to get on it! These past two weeks at work have been CRAZY! A few years ago I bought some calming and relaxing cd's from the dollar tree. I play them daily during literacy and writing classes! If I can't hear the music the kids know they are too loud!  

Well, I have to get ready for tonight! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will do the rule of 3...promise! 

Text Features Freebie and a Buy 1 get 1 FREE end of quater sale!

This afternoon, my teammate and I planned out literacy for two weeks. Over the next two weeks we are going to cover text features with our Reading Street story of Hottest, Coldest, Highest Deepest. Students will need to know how text features help them in their reading. 

So I created a Text Features Interactive Notebook for them to use while I do my lessons.

In this notebook I have 13 different text features I will cover in the course of 2 weeks. I used pictures from Beth Newingham's posters and placed them in the notebook.

I only used the example pictures so students can write their own definition and how it helps them when reading. There is even space for them to draw a picture.

As I am teaching them, I plan on making an anchor chart similar to this one. This way we can keep it up all year long!
