Super Improver of the Day~WBT idea!

Last year I blogged about having an EGGcellent student of the day! You can read about it here

Every day I would be looking for a student who was having an amazing day. I would pick a winner and they would get a no homework pass and a piece of candy!

It worked GREAT and my kids loved it.

Well this year I wanted this idea to match this with the Super Improvers Wall from While Brain Teaching.

I will put the poster in a clear sleeve and write the super improver of the days name in the circle. I will use the no homework for tonight passes to staple in my student's planner so the parents know they don't have homework for the night! I will also give them a star in their personal Super Improver's Wall book! No more candy!

You can pick this up in my Super Improver Wall freebie on TpT HERE

Thanks for stopping by:)

But please, I hate to beg...but my little blog has felt very lonely lately:( I know it's the end of the year and we are all ready for it to be summer, but if you could leave a comment and feedback I would greatly appreciate it!

Well, I am off to work on updating another freebie...my Minute to Win it unit!

Bursting with Improvement Freebie, plus a sneak peek!

Happy Wednesday Friends! It's been a great week so far! We have been getting out all week at 12:45 for parent/teacher conferences, I started running (well, trying) and bringing less home! Not to mention, the kids have been great! How has your week been?

I have had a few people ask about the bursting with improvement freebie label!
Just click HERE to get it for free!

I hope you can use it! If you missed how I use it, check out my last post here!

One thing I have been working on is going to be HUGE! I am pretty excited about it too!

Once I am complete with the second grade set, I will blog about this new mega packet I am working on!

My coworker and friend asked me to make her something, so of course I said yes. Hopefully, I will be done soon with this fun unit!

I hope you all are having an awesome week!!!

How I use the Super Improvers Wall:)

Last year was the first time I used Whole Brain Teaching. I didn't use the Super Improvers Wall, but instead used a ton of other classroom management strategies. I realized I had TOO many rewards, incentives, points, prizes, (you get the picture) going on. I always forgot to do one thing or the other. So my goal this year was to really focus on one positive management plan!

I have been using the SIW tied with my weekly behavior sheet! So far... this was the best week yet:)

Since I was loving Whole Brain Teaching, I wanted to put my focus into the Super Improvers Wall.
Sorry for the bad glare!

I downloaded the free cards from Tara West over at Little Minds at Work.  They are just perfect!

Students have to earn 10 tokens (what I call them) to move up the SIW. I found these at a teacher store here on Oahu.

I put them in this ID carrier I always wear around my neck. It has 2 zippers. It is perfect because I can hand out tokens in line, at recess, really anywhere:)

Students keep their tokens in a zipper pouch I provided. I ordered them off of Amazon! Inside the zipper pouch is also a steno book. They glue their tokens on there so they don't lose them.

When students get their 10 tokens they get their star on the SIW

There are 10 colors to match the 10 colors in Tara's freebie! My stars are free too. You can get them HERE.

I also give them two Starburst candies for earning their star;)
I just made this cute label today! If you are all interested, I can make it into a freebie for you:)

I also let them pick a reward coupon! I bought them from Mel D

I cut them all up and place them inside of my talking frog:)
The kids close their eyes and pick one out!

They are LOVING it! I am up to 5 kids on beginner. I have a few close to learner!

I plan on making some certificates to go with moving up the SIW. I will post those when I am done!

How do you use the SIW? I would love to hear some other ways!

Enjoy your weekend friends!

Whole Brain Teaching Posters:)

I LOVE Whole Brain Teaching! It makes my heart happy! Last year I kept it simple with the Class Yes, Teach Ok, and the scoreboard! I bought the book, started reading it yesterday and couldn't put it down!

Last year I made some WBT posters and I wanted to share them again with you!

Ready? Set. Go! Is from Stephanie from 3rd Grade Thoughts! I LOVED using this last year!!!

Just click HERE to get them for free:)

Enjoy your Monday!
I'll be in another workshop:(

Super Improvers Wall Freebie and some Color Label updates

What two days in a row??? You must be joking! Well actually I am typing this early because I have my first workshop tomorrow at 8:30am! YIKES! I am just trying to get settled and I am already back to work. I knew this was going to happen, and I am ok with it. I just keep telling myself...I moved to Hawaii...it is ok:)

On another job note..two things. Yesterday's shopping at store one...was a 2 hour success! I will blog about it when I take pictures of the 12 bags and 5 boxes of binders I walked out of there with.

And I also got my contract yesterday! Yeah for being an official employee of Hawaii:)

OK, back to the good stuff!

A few weeks back I made my color labels for organization

I got a great response from these and I really appreciate it. Many of the comments were about the paint chip pencils and saying how much they loved those.

I emailed Krista Wallden from The Creative Chalkboard to see what she could do about doing a brown, black and white set. You know what...she emailed me from Germany with the clip art! She ROCKS!

So I was able to update this set with the new paint chip pencils!!!
I love them! There are different types of labels in this set!

You can pick them up in both of my stores!

This year I am going to try and add the Super Improver Wall to my Whole Brain Teaching. I love WBT and I think this is going to be a great addition!

I downloaded for free these awesome Super Improver Wall cards from Tara at Little Minds at Work.

I really wanted the stars to go with it so...I made some:)

For each level is a star that matches the color of Tara's wall!

You can get these cards for FREE at my TpT shop!
All I ask is you just leave some feedback both here and my shop! It means the world to me!

Hope you have a fantastic Thursday!

Classroom Management-Attention Grabbers:)

Last year I found Whole Brain Teaching and just fell in love! I had the best class community last year and I give a lot of that credit to Whole Brain Teaching. I put a lot of work into building that community in the beginning of the year and it really paid off!

So this year I plan to do the same! I love using different attention grabbers other than the traditional "Class, Yes" model.

So I took a look at my last years attention grabbers I made and beautified them:) I wanted to make them POP! I also added a bunch more to my collection! And I really like the way they turned out!

I made each attention grabber it's own page and also a page with smaller cards!

I have printed mine and already laminated them:) I think I am going to do the smaller cards and use an attention grabber of the day! But on the other hand, last year I could call out ANY of these and they would know what to do. They just had to keep their ears open for any of the sayings!

Would you like a copy? I would LOVE to give away THREE copies of my attention grabbers. Just leave a comment (with your email please) about one way you like to get your students attention and I will pick a winner tomorrow!

If you can't want and just have to have them, you can get them at my TpT shop and my TN shop!

Pack to packing I go!

Attention Grabbers-loving WBT!

I am LOVING Whole Brain Teaching and so are the kids! What they really like is the scoreboard and the fun attention grabbers I have been using! Yes, Whole Brain Teaching has you doing Class? Yes! But that got old...quick! I still use it, but not every time! I like to mix things up! Don't you?

So I have found some awesome attention grabbers on Pinterest! One was from Miss. Nelson over at Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera!
I have been using these attention grabbers since the beginning of school and they are awesome! You can snag this poster up for free at store

Then, earlier this week Stephanie from 3rd Grade Thoughts made a really super cute awesome amazing poster for one of the attention grabbers - Hocus Pocuc! Everybody Focus!! I already printed mine out;)

You can click on her blog and get yours for free too! So right then and there I decided to make some more posters for the other attention grabbers using kinda the same look at Stephanie's! I did this so they would match in my room and I didn't want to remake what she did because I love it that much:) So here you go! Here are my posters I created to use and you can use them too!

You can grab them HERE!
