Teacher Week Catch up...long:)

This week got the best of me and I am dog tired! We had our first week back full of meetings, working in our rooms, and meet the teacher! Meet the teacher was a HUGE success! I am really thinking I lucked out and got a great group of kiddos! They all were so sweet, happy, were excited they had me as a teacher! The parents were happy, brought some supplies in and jumped right in and asked when they can help out! How awesome is that!!! I am excited!

So here I am playing catch up...at home...back on the internet...FINALLY:) I am not at the coffee shop, but home in pj's, in a silent house, with my cat right next to me and pancakes for dinner;) Way better than a noisy coffee shop!

Since I only completed MONDAY of teacher week with Blog Hoppin, I have a lot to talk about and show you! So I am apologizing in advance, but I promise it will be worth it:)
Tuesday-Technology tip
I am SURE someone has talked about this...but my tip is to use...
I always, always, always use PowerPoint to make my creations! It is sooooo user friendly! Word is not! So ditch word and get with using PowerPoint, you will be very happy you did!

Thursday-therapeutic
When I do relax...and that is a goal of mine this year, these are some things I like to do:)

Being in Hawaii with my hubby and playing with my cat are very relaxing to me! I do love baking, shopping at Target, enjoying a cold coffee from Starbucks, getting a long pedicure, going to the movies, and yes...taking Step Aerobics relaxes me since I love it so much!
Friday-FREEBIE
Freebies are always great! So today I am going to give my Dunking Division Poke game to you for free! I hope you like it!

Well, that is it for today! I will be back this weekend with my 500 follower giveaway!
Have a great Friday everyone:)

Rolling in Money!!! with a possible freebie:)

I wish I was rolling in money...don't you? hehe! So last night after looking around on Pinterest I found this really cute math idea from Mrs. Prince & Company.
She calls it The Trading Game. When I saw this picture, something clicked! I have that chip tray and had no idea how to use it...until now!

I came up with a new game called, Rolling in Money!

All students need help adding money and this game is perfect for that! The tray I have has 6 compartments. Place different coins in all 6 compartments. Use the number cards to label each compartment.
I have these in 4 different colors
I created 5 different recording sheets. One for rolling 2 times, 3 times, 4 times, 5 times, and 6 times. Each time they roll, they take the coin out and record it on their recording sheet. After all the rolls are recorded, they add up to get their amount! Check with a calculator, put the coins back, and play again!

So what do you think? I am pretty excited about this and think they will LOVE playing with this game! From my experience, the kids LOVE playing with money! I do too;) You can get them both at my TPT and TN stores!

BUT...Since no one guessed the breed of dog I've only had in my life, I will ask that question again! If you get it right you can WIN this game AND my Dunking Division poke game!

Have a great Saturday everyone:)

Giveaway winners and more freebies:)

I really did not want this day to come:( The LAST full weekday off of the summer! How did it go so quickly??? I have a full week of work days next week and students come August 27th. I am hoping for a really great year! I think good things are going to happen this year!

So onto a few things! Give away winners! here are the 5 people who get to pick one item from my store for free! Congrats to you all and thank you to everyone else for participating! Please email me to let me know what you want!
I am only 24 people away from 500 followers! I can't wait for a HUGE giveaway! Yeah!

So I have a few more freebies for you! Just click on any of the pictures to get the file!

First one is a Place VS Value sign! I made it a long time ago and can't find where the original boxing gloves clip art came from. If you know, can you please tell me so I can give credit or I might need to change it! The fonts are from Hello Literacy:) I LOVE her fonts!

I have a few people who asked for my Literacy Notebook! Well...here you go:)
I also made a check out and check in page for this notebook. This will be where the students record the books they pick for their book boxes! That way, if a book goes missing I MAY be able to find it...haha!

I hope you have a great Friday!

Monday made it Daily 5 freebies for you, reading/spelling trackers, and giveaways!

Monday, Monday, where did you go? I am a few days late to the party but I have been SO busy. Last week of freedom and I can't seem to relax:( So today I am linking up with Tara from 4th Grade Frolics for Monday(Wednesday) Made it!

I feel a little better than yesterday! I spent most of my night really looking at how I have to now work my reading block! See, before the ESL teacher and I had a modified Daily 5 because we say every group for guided reading every day, sometimes twice a day! Now since I won't be working with her(no one is-the system is changing) I have to think about something else....

So I am going back to do a full Daily 5 reading block! I have to get the books back from my classroom tomorrow and really do some rereading! The one thing I don't like is having the mini lessons in different chunks! I have found that there is too much transition time and instructional time is lost! Am I the only one who thinks that? So if my reading block this year is 9:00-11:20, but I have to have 40 minutes of writing in there...how in the world do I schedule my reading block? Anyone have any ideas? If you offer any suggestions, I would gladly give you my new reading and spelling trackers for free(see below for them).

So here are the Daily 5 items I have been working on! I had them last year but just updated a few things and added all the credits and such! Any of these materials are not indorsed by The Sisters. If you want to learn more about how to use the Daily 5 I highly suggest you get their books:)

So first thing...here are some daily/weekly trackers that students can use to keep track of what choices they have done. Just click on any of the pictures to download!

Next is a poster to help students with reading to someone

This last one is posters you can use around your room for Daily 5 and CAFE

I hope you can use some of these:)

So the other thing I made last night was a spelling and reading tracker. This is for students to keep data on their spelling tests and also keep up with their minutes they read for homework! Both area available in my TPT and TN stores!
