Pinterest Approved Recipe Link Up: June Edition

It's summer time!!! Oh sweet summer! I hope you all are enjoying your well deserved break! I know I am! So far I have meet up with friends, slept in, gone to the beach, read a book, took a PD, presented at a conference and spent time with my family!

I don't know about you, but in the summer I love to eat fruit! Here in Hawaii we have these delicious Acai bowls! But depending on where you can get them, they can run you at least $10...for a SMALL! They are worth the price, but I found you can make them yourself...and save a ton of money!

I am back with my friends Angelia, Courtney and Nicole for another Pinterest Approved Link Up!

If you're new to the link up...WELCOME:) So glad to have you!
Check out this post from Teaching in Paradise to explain this linky!

There's a local place by my house that makes the most delicious green bowls with spinach and kale. I feel when I eat that bowl I am getting a healthy meal, full of veggies and it also tastes so good!

So today, I am bringing you an amazing recipe from two different blogs. I am going to share with you how I used bits and pieces from both blogs to create my own version  of a smoothie bowl!

The two blogs that inspired my recipe are Kitchen Confidant and So Much Love

Below are my pictures and how I created my smoothie bowls!

All my ingredients for the green part of my bowl.
Spinach, kale, banana, apple, kiwi, pineapple, mango, coconut water w/pineapple, and plain Kefir.

I add the spinach , kale, Kefir and coconut water first. I like to get the spinach and kale blended well.

As I am going, I always add more spinach, kale, Kefir and coconut water. I really to eye ball this.

Next, I add the mango and pineapple, then the apple and kiwi. Every time I add something, I blend it well.

Next, I add a teaspoon or two of flax and chia seeds. Blend well.

It will mix to a thick base. Taste it and see how you like it. You can always add more of something if it needs it. Once it is ready, I pour it into about 6 dishes and place in the freezer for a few minutes.

While they are in the freezer I rinse out the Ninja and start getting my mixed berry stuff ready!
I use the same Kefir and coconut water, with blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, a half of a banana, chia and flax seeds.

I start by adding the blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, Kefir, and coconut water then mix well.

I mix them well then add the banana, more Kefir, honey, chia and flax seeds

I mix this well until thick

I finally pull the green bowls out of the freezer and add the mixed berry blend on top of the green! I add the lids and back in the freezer they go.

After about a few hours in the freezer, you will have yourself at least 6 bowls!
I like to add  fresh bananas and strawberries, granola, mini chocolate chips, honey, shredded coconut, almonds, really anything you want!

I can't tell you how good this is! It's the perfect food for breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner. Once you get the hang of it it won't take long to make at all.

We hope you join us with this link up! I love learning new recipes! The rules are super simple!

Thanks for stopping by today!
