Super cool new hands trick for multiplication, freebie, and winners!

So, browsing Pinterest last night, I found this AWESOME, AMAZING, really COOL YouTube video with a new hands trick for multiplication! You have to check this out if you teach multiplication...

I was in shock! I think this is super cool. So I scratched my lesson plans for today, and jumped right in with teaching this trick! Here are some pictures from today!

I had them create a poster! They had to do the same thing the guy did in the video.

And this was a final poster. I also had them write down each set of multiplication facts and solve each one using the new trick! They LOVED this. 

So what did I do??? After the gym, I came home right away and made a poster to display in the classroom!

My principal, guidance councilor , RTI teacher and literacy coach all came in yesterday and watched it with my class. They were amazed with the video. My Principal actually is forwarding it to his boss and the superintended! YIKES! He even wants me to show it at the next staff meeting! Bully Free Video I just HAVE to share-and two new products!

I FINALLY finished the video for my classes bully free project we were working on two weeks ago! I LOVE it and could not be more proud of my kiddos. I can't believe 3rd graders made this.  PLEASE....tell me what you think? I would love to hear some comments about it!

I am also in the works of finishing these two units! The first one is for the distributive property of multiplication! 

And the second one are multi-step word problems. This tricks 3rd graders so much! They always forget they have to do one part of the problem before they do the other! I am going to keep drilling this all year I believe:(

I love this quote! It is so true in so many different ways! I also adore the movie! It is one my must watches of the season. I am also from Grand Rapids, Michigan where the author and story come from. I have driven by the house in this book many times!

Well, I lied:( I didn't get done all the other units I said I was going to do. I promise I will work on them and have them up soon! Hubby is working tonight so I am trying to get everything done so we can spend some time together tomorrow:)

BUT...I did get a chance to finish my Polar Express Unit...and I just LOVE it! I have never worked harder on any of my other products than this one. I kept going over it and over it, adding more activities. I finally just had to tell my self to STOP!

Happy Sunday Friends!

Thank you ALL for the kind words about my sister! I am very proud of her! She has really grown up and I thank the Army for that! I am very thankful on this Veteran's day to have my sister be an active part of the military and serving our country! I am so thankful for my husband who was also in the Army for 5 years, but way before I met him! I was actually in middle school when he was in the Army! HAHA! 

Everyone having a great weekend?  I know I sure am! On Friday I was back from SC but took the day off of work! It was nice to sleep in with my husband, go to the gym, grab a late lunch and relax the rest of the night! Yesterday, I got up, went to the gym, got my hair cut, did some shopping and then had dinner with 6 of my girlfriends! It was nice! 

Who is off tomorrow? I am SO glad to have one more day off! I am spending my day around the house doing laundry, cleaning and making my TPT products. I will take some time here to get to the gym! My body is still SO sore from Friday when I began with my personal trainer again! I am hoping I can do the routine again today what we did on Friday. I am also meeting with her again on Tuesday!

So, speaking of TPT products...I have been working on this Polar Express packet for a few days now. I have a few more things I want to add and do to it, but would really LOVE for two people to proof it. If you can do it today, actually, as soon as possible, let me know and I will email it to you. Then, when I am done, I will get you back the finished copy for free!


I am also working on a Distributive Property of Multiplication game, December writing calendar (hopefully some more months too) some more Fact and opinion stuff, and two step multiplication word problems:) Hopefully I will be back tonight with a double post of all these things...but, maybe tomorrow!

Proud big sister here!

Sorry for my absence over the past few days! But, I have been in Columbia, SC spending time with my sister and mom! My sister just graduated from Basic Training at Fort Jackson!

She is off to Fort Lee, in VA for her training! I am one proud big sister! 

It sure has been a nice week! Birthday was Monday and I have been off ever since! I will be back to work Tuesday! Anyone else off for Veteran's Day? I have not touched a lick of school work since Tuesday and I LOVE it! This is part of my leave it at work attitude! I can no longer make school my life, I won't!

So what are you all doing tonight? I actually have some time to work on a few units I have wanted to finish! I should have them posted tomorrow! I better get working;)  Have a great night!

Happy Birthday to me today! I can't believe that I am 31 years old! Yikes! So for those of you that guessed 31, please leave a comment below with your email and what item you want for free from my store!

Today has been a pretty good day! I got up and went to the gym at 5am, the kids at school were really good, and then took a gym class after work. Came home to a new book my hubby bought me and now I am just relaxing, catching up on DVR while my hubby sleeps since he has to work tonight!

Tomorrow is a teacher workday, and I took off Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to drive to Columbia, SC to watch my sister graduate from Boot Camp! So super proud of her! AND, then we are off Monday for Veteran's day! So..I really don't see my students for a week! This is a MUCH needed break away! Then the following week is Thanksgiving! LOVING this:)

Hopefully with these few days off, I can get busy on my products for my store. Well, back to relaxing! Have a great night!

Happy Saturday Friends! Tonight my hubby and I along with some friends are going out to celebrate my birthday and hubby's birthday! His was October 29th and mine is November 5th. Anyone LOVE American Horror Story? 

 It is such an amazing show. I do have to admit, I am a bit sad they didn't leave off from last season. But this season is still really good! 

I can't believe I got 12 hours of sleep last night! I went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 11am! Crazy! but it's saving me from a nap today! 

I did do some shopping for a new shirt and pants to wear out tonight! No luck on finding pants but did find a few new shirts. Now...what to actually wear! haha! 

I really want a new computer. I am thinking about switching to a mac...any suggestions on what to get? I am waiting for my districts supplement  check I get twice a year. I will have it the middle of this month and thinking about buying one with that money!  

I have a HUGE list of things to start, finish, and post to TPT. I really need to get on it! These past two weeks at work have been CRAZY! A few years ago I bought some calming and relaxing cd's from the dollar tree. I play them daily during literacy and writing classes! If I can't hear the music the kids know they are too loud!  

Well, I have to get ready for tonight! I hope everyone has a great weekend! I will do the rule of 3...promise!
