I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream-giveaway:)

It is 8:30 and Starbucks closes in 30 minutes...so unfortunately I have no time to post day 4 in my classroom. I plan on it tomorrow plus do a few linky parties.

BUT...for now, I have another getting to know me giveaway!

Today, I spend the day with one amazing young 9 year old. I got to have fun with one of my previous students from this past year! He is originally from Uganda and has only been in the US for a year and a half. He has come a LONG way...and that is no exaggeration! His story is absolutely amazing and so are his adaptive parents! They adopted him, and BOTH of his sisters. They are getting his cousin by December too!!!  So I called up his mom and told her I had the case of the missing (insert name). 

I went and picked him up and met the ESL teacher I co-teach with for ice cream! Now I LOVE ice cream! My student was so excited to have ice cream for lunch! Then we went to Target and acted silly all throughout the store! Skateboarding, playing with noodle swords! So fun! We also went to PetSmart to look at the animals. I got to learn a thing or two about him and animals. The cats and mice make him very nervous-because of the orphanage where he lived:(

I dropped him off at home and told him maybe we can do it again before back to school comes! 

So where is all of this going? Well, in honor of my past student, I am going to have an ice cream theme giveaway!

    I love a DQ Oreo Blizzard. I can also suffer through a turtle sundae anywhere! Now I must get ice cream! Sounds like you had a great day with your past student. Good for you and him! :)

    My absolute favorite ice cream is peanut butter and chocolate, but it's really hard to find nowadays (maybe because of peanut allergies?)

    I used to love getting the banana split blizzard- changes to my health/diet prevent me from enjoying many foods- have to let hubby or the grandkids enjoy the goodies.

    It sounded like you had so much fun with your little buddy- maybe he will have more positive experiences with cats to get to love them!

    at DQ: cookie dough blizzard! However, we have a creamery right down the street (I ride my bicycle there!), and they have AMAZING home made ice cream :) Right now, my favorite is cantaloupe!

    So excited to see you spend time with your previous students outside of school! I made a special connection with a little girl when I taught Kindergarten like 5 years ago, and she moved the next year, but every summer she comes to visit her grandparents and we always get together to do something fun :)

    What a cute....or should I say sweet giveaway! I love DQ...the new chocolate candy blizzard is my current fave!     i'm so bummed that we don't have a DQ here, but I have been to one some years ago on vacation. My favorite flavor has to be anything with peanut butter and fudge -- i just love peanut butter cups and reese pieces! if a flavor includes one of those, it's almost an automatic choice for me!

    My favorite thing to get at DQ is the Peanut Buster Parfait. I love it! Dairy Queen ice cream is the best by far but we don't have many left in our area.

    My absolute favorite ice cream is chocolate peanut butter...I don't think they have that at DQ, but I'm sure they have lots of other yummy options. :)

    My favorite thing to get is a strawberry sundae. I am not one for trying new things, so this is my go to ice cream treat. How neat that you met up with him and that his parents are able to do such a wonderful thing for him and his relatives :)
