Yesterday I spent a majority of my night doing some reading on Whole Brain Teaching, watching videos, pinning, reading blogs about it...just anything I could to fully understand this WBT concept. I can tell you...I am in love! And super excited to try it! I have used "tell your partner..." before but nothing like this.
Stephanie from 3rd Grade thoughts has been a HUGE inspiration to me. Her blog is simply amazing and has some great WBT resources! You must go check her out. After looking at hear posters and getting some great ideas, I wanted to create some of my own.
One of Stephanie's new ideas was a poster called Ready? Set. Go! You know that awkward time when you have given your lesson and then you dismiss them back to their center or seat to do work? Usually you just say, "OK, go back to your seat." Well, not any more! This is how she uses the Ready? Set. Go strategy!
I
end my directions by saying "Ready" and hitting both hands on my
lap. The kids reply by saying "Set" and clapping their hands together
once. We then all say "GO!" and raise our hands in the air. It's all very fun and gives us an energy to get into the next project as soon
as we can.
So what do you think? I LOVE it! She even made a cute poster to go with it! I told you...go check her out!
Here are the posters I created! I also made a Ready? Set. Go! Poster included in the set! Thanks Stephanie for the amazing strategy!
If you are interested in the posters I made, just click HERE to get them:)
Also, if you want to check out all my WBT pins on Pinterest..go HERE
While visiting Stephanie's blog, I was finding myself blog hopping over to The Polka Dot Patch where I found some amazing WBT rule posters! She has them for FREE download:) You must go check them out! I printed them out, hot glued them to ribbon and will hang them in my room!
Last but not least, I finished my reward posters for my new Level Up behavior management system! The reason why I do not have this included in the unit is because everyone does rewards differently.
The things I have on my rewards are from the Target Dollar Spot and also some time with me. If you think you would want to use these cards and the Level Up system, I would gladly include them in the packet for free.
If you have any questions about this system I would gladly answer them. I have had a few people ask me already some questions. I am thinking about doing a post just for questions. And then another when I start using the system. Are any of you thinking about using it? I would love to hear about it when you do!
Don't forget to enter both of my giveaways. One ends tonight-which is getting the Level Up unit for free! The other ends Sunday night! Click here to get there!
Good luck to you all!
Love the posters! I'm so excited to use more WBT techniques this year. I LOVE Stephanie's blog. =)
