Monday Made it, Winners, Classroom sneak peak!

First off...I am SOOO tired! I got up at 5:30am to get my behind to the gym! Yes, I said 5:30am! While I was working out, this lady came and got right next to me on the elliptical who rolled herself in deodorant this morning to cover up her B.O. It just made it worse! I toughed it out but the smell was unbearable! And to top it off...she was not wearing a bra...YUCK! Then I saw an 85 year old man on the treadmill rocking out with a TAPE player! HAHA! Way to go!

So please excuse any randomness and misspelled words today...because I.am.exhausted!
My Monday made it is, well...not that elaborate this week! So so sorry! But maybe it is a management plan you can use:) For the past, oh 3 years or so, I have used a ticket system in my class. I buy raffle tickets from Walmart or wherever they have them the cheapest...like this and use it as part of my classroom behavior management plan.
Students earn toad tickets as I call them for FROGtastic behavior! At the end of the week, I pull a ticket out from my frog...he is a ribbiting frog trash can from Target a few years back. The kids just LOVE him! One time his "voice" was not working and all the kids would rub his head and tell him to feel better since he had a frog in his throat! HAHA! All I had to do was replace the battery!
I would put the tickets back in and at the end of every quarter I would pull a few for a bigger prize. Again, I would put them back in and at the end of the year I pulled two out and gave the winners a gift card! They loved it. So I will be doing this again this year.

So here is my Monday made it part. The kids LOVE the tickets so I decided to do it with my homework too. Last year I did homework bingo and it was great, but I think I will like this better.
I bought this bucket from Michaels for $3.00. I plan on having the larger compartment in the back to hold all the tickets. The front two compartments are for Literacy(reading) and math homework. Since I collect homework every day, if they turn it in, they get a ticket. they write their name on the back of the ticket and put it in the appropriate side. On Friday's I will draw a winner from each side to get a prize. These tickets I will throw out each week.
If you have any questions about this system, please ask! Make sure you link up with Tara over at 4th grade frolics!

Another thing I have been working on and I am almost done is my monthly spelling homework packet. I am creating a tic tac toe game board where students have to choose what spelling homework to do each night! Students will place the monthly board in a clear sheet so they can check off the ones they completed, wipe it off on Friday's and start over the next week. They must complete them in a tic tac toe pattern. I have August/September and October done:)
I would LOVE to give one packet away just as soon as I am done. So...here is the deal.

To win a packet...
1. be a follower
2. In the comment box, guess my birthday! It is a Fall birthday:) You must guess the month and the date.

If no one guesses it by this Friday, I will pick the person who came the closest!

Speaking of giveaways...here are my winners of my 300 follower giveaway!

First prize gets a $5.00 Starbucks gift card...all the way from Hawaii thanks to Terri from The First Grade Princess and $30.00 credit to my store.

Second prize is a $20.00 credit to my store.

Third prize is a $10.00 credit to my store.
I will be sending you three an email here very soon!

So why did I get up soooo early to go to the gym? I went into work today to start common core planning with 12 other teachers. I will be there every day until Thursday. While I was there, I was told my room is cleaned and I can get in it to start setting up! YEAH! So I just had to walk upstairs and check it out. It looks SOOO clean and nice! I love it. I also am loving the fact the tech department took my noisy, airplane sound making computers out of my room...I am getting new ones:) YES! So I leave you with a few pictures of my empty clean room! It won't be like this for long now knowing I can get in it and set up!
Toodles!
this is when I first walk in

Walking in a bit more

a view from my office...Yes I have an office:)

A few from the corner of the room...ugh...they had to go put all of my stuff up so high:(

  1. That room looks huge, and you have an office?! Wow. By the way, there's nothing worse than working out really hard in the midst of someone's strong perfume. It makes me almost nauseous.

  8. Man, I am jealous of all the wall real estate! One of my walls is covered in cabinets, one wall in windows, and a third wall in a huge white board with my promethean board in the middle! I literally have one little crappy wall to hang stuff! And the wall is even a full wall! Part of it sticks out and I can't use it! lol

    1. I do have a ton of wall space:) I have an active board too but it is a bright link! So it doesn't take away from my whiteboard:) You can see the only part that sticks out in the second pic!

  14. I've been doing tic-tac-toe spelling for a few years now and love it. I also enjoy learning about new ideas for activities. I change it up every so often, but I love your idea of using the plastic sheet protector. Although, I do print out their spelling words for the week on the other side of the tic-tac-toe. I'll have to think about that for this year ...

I am already a follower. As for your birthday, I'm gonna have to say November 19th.

  28. I do a similiar ticket system in my classroom! Each Friday I roll the dice on my Smartboard. The # on the dice is how many tickets I pull. Whoever's name I pull gets to pick out of the treat box. My kiddos love it!
